The latest addition to Breitling’s Chronomat collection, the Chronomat B01 42 Year of the Dragon contains all the features this classic collection is known for, including an onion-shaped crown and a raised rider’s pull tab to protect the crystal. Additionally, the rider labels at the 15-minute and 45-minute positions are interchangeable, allowing for a “count up” or “count down” function using the rotating bezel.
The unique design of the Chronomat B01 42 Year of the Dragon watch includes a burgundy dial symbolizing good luck and prosperity, a black triple counter, and a dragon pattern on the subdial at 9 o'clock and the sapphire crystal case back. The hands are coated with luminous Super-LumiNova® coating to enhance readability in low light.
The Chronomat was originally designed as the official watch of the famous Italian aerobatic squadron "Frecce Tricolori". Not only was the Chronomat popular with pilots, its tachymeter scale also attracted interest from Formula 1 teams in the 1980s and 1990s, while its reversible rider tags made it ideal for diving and yacht racing. The Chronomat has since become Breitling’s multifunctional sports watch that combines style and functionality.
As the name suggests, the Chronomat B01 42 Year of the Dragon watch uses a 42 mm stainless steel case with a platinum bezel and is equipped with Breitling's self-made 01 self-winding movement. This is an observatory watch certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer (COSC) and can provide Power reserve is approximately 70 hours. It's water-resistant to an impressive 200 meters and comes with a stylish and sporty rubber strap.
